A Wonderful Year in Wales
Wales really has been the perfect holiday destination this year, glorious weather, blossoming gardens and scenic beauty so lusciously green we really have had a wonderful year. Many new attractions have opened this year for those who have visited the area, such as Zip Wire World, Bounce Below, new carriages on the Snowdonia Mountain Railway and new (very old!) steam engines on the two Steam Railways between Caernarfon and Ffestiniog.
2014 has seen a wonderful mix of guests at Ty’n Rhos, many visiting from overseas seeing the best that North Wales has to offer, we have on occasions as many as 10 nationalities all dining together, giving a lovely atmosphere in and around the property. A tuly European feel…especially during our mini heatwave when we were able to offer ‘al-fresco’ dining.
A big thank you to all who visited Ty’n Rhos this year, we really do hope you all enjoyed yourselves and look forward to welcoming you back in 2015.
With such fantastic weather our dinner menu’s have been a delight for most, particularly those enjoying seafood. On a daily basis we have been lucky enough to receive an abundance of lobsters, crab, seabass and mackerel, having travelled no more than 10 miles to get to us, we can’t get much fresher than that! If this weather holds out we will probably manage this for a few more weeks hopefully too.
During 2014 we have had a new website built hopefully making it much easier for you to book direct with us off our website. It also allows you to see availability in room categories at a glance. We still have a few pictures to upload onto it, which hopefully we will get around to it over the winter period.
We have already begun planning our winter programme of refurbishment. Room 14 (Ladies Slipper) will have new French doors fitted in two weeks time replacing a window. We have been revamping the garden behind this room over the summer so that hopefully by the time the doors are fitted giving access out onto the garden it will have some landscaping already done, although there is more to do over the winter. It will however be a wonderful addition to this room, with its own garden and seating area ready for next Spring.
We are hoping to refurbish a further two rooms this winter.
With all the warm weather we have been treated to some wonderful sunrises and sunsets with deep orange, purple and red tones – we have included a picture to show you for those who missed them!
