Summer is finally well underway in North Wales and that means there are plenty of fantastic outdoor events on throughout the season to keep you entertained during your holidays.
Since Tyn Rhos Hotel Caernarfon is based in Snowdonia, near the vibrant towns of Caernarfon and Bangor, it is always conveniently located near some of the best events of the summer. There are both rural activities and big town festivals only a short drive away through the whole of the summer so it is the ideal time to book a holiday away in the stunning natural landscape that surrounds the hotel.
We have a wide variety of beautifully decorated bedrooms from single rooms to executive rooms, all with their own individual decors so you can relax in style after a long day of exploring the region and enjoying the best activities and events.
Our Caernarfon restaurant is also open to both residents and non residents at the hotel every day from 6:30pm-8:45pm and there is also the option to pop by for our Sunday Lunches. Summer is the best time of year to visit our restaurant as it offers charming views of our garden and in the warmer weather we have the option to dine on the patio area. Before dinner you can relax in the bar, lounge or conservatory areas and the Tyn Rhos Restaurant Caernarfon with its garden views is a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike.
You will want to book a place soon as there are some big events coming up just around the corner:
Conwy Pirate Weekend – 28th & 29th June 2014
Tyn Rhos is only a few minutes’ drive from the coastal town of Conwy and the last weekend of June brings the annual Pirate Weekend to the town. This is fast becoming one of the most beloved annual events in the area for locals and visitors to the region. This year the event has moved to June and should provide an exciting weekend for everyone. There will be a smuggler’s market, a pirate camp with many fun themed stalls and activities, belly dancers, pirate circuses and of course the famous attack of the quayside demonstrations.
North Wales Show – 5th July
The North Wales Show is one of our biggest agricultural shows and it takes place right here in Caernarfon. It is the place to go for a whole host of the best agricultural competitions including everything from horses and cattle to home and garden. In addition to seeing all the best animals and produce, vintage tractors will also be on display. It is one of the very best agricultural shows so do not miss out.
Wakestock – 11th, 12th & 13th July
Wakestock is probably a primary contender for North Wales’ most famous festival. It is Europe’s biggest Wakeboarding competition and it is a fantastic music festival too. Every year this event grows to be bigger and bigger. It is now taking place across three sites in the Llyn Peninsula. There is the beach site on Abersoch bay where you can watch the main adrenaline fuelled competition of the wakeboarders. Cardigan Bay overlooks the stunning Snowdonia Mountain range and is host to the festival portion of the event and Pwllheli Marina is the site for the competitors themselves to strut their stuff. A shuttle bus connects all three sections of the festival. This year there are new additions to the competition. As well as an incredible line up including Levellers, Fatherson and Racing Glaciers there is the addition of the Offaxis Beach Olympics, the fancy dress race and the artisan market. Tickets are now on sale!
Snowdon Race – 19th July
The Snowdon Race is an impressive display of athletic prowess. It is one of Europe’s most gruelling endurance challenges with a 10 mile race over steep terrain. This race first began in 1976 and it starts and finishes in Padarn Park Llanberis. Entries for 2014 are now closed so please come and support the athletes in their challenge. This is an international race and should provide some real competition for all involved.
