See Snowdonia From The Saddle

Now that the weather has started to cool down, it’s prime opportunity for some of Snowdonia’s attractions to take prime position as tourism hotspots. We’re rather large fans of the Snowdonia Riding Stables, which allow some of the very best miles upon miles of completely traffic-free bridleways, and what we’re confident are some of the very best views within Britain. And even better, this experience is a hop, skip, and a jump away from our charming Country House Hotel in Caernarfon.

All of their pony trekking and riding excursions are overseen by experienced trek leaders and also include instruction in their very own arena by BHS Qualified instructors for beginners, should they be within your party.

Those more competent don’t have to feel bored while the weaker riders of their party are taught confidence and how to handle their horse; The facilities for such at the Snowdonia Riding Stables are a great experience all by themselves. The Snowdonia Riding Stables boast a 20m x 40m flexiride arena, as well as a 25m x 60m sand arena, with show jumps.

Both experienced and not-so experienced riders are more than welcome to complete an assessment to ensure that the right match of horse and rider – to ensure that the trek leaders can personally plan the route your group will take, in order to suit the abilities of everyone in the group.

You’re also more than welcome to bring your own horse, whether you wish to improve his way of going – or even receive instruction in dressage and jumping. All instruction is BHS Certified, up to stage three.

Their selection of treks to choose from are vast and varied, from introductory rides, one hour countryside rides, a one and a half hour version for those of us that don’t feel that an hour is quite enough in the saddle… and of course half day and full day versions which will take you into the heartland of Snowdonia’s hills and mountains respectively.
