Gwledd Conwy Feast 2015 – 24th & 25th October
There are so many fantastic events taking place not far from Tyn Rhos this autumn.
Autumn is an excellent time of year to visit Snowdonia as the landscape is undergoing a magical transformation. The sights of the rolling countryside and woodlands changing into an array of vibrant colours is truly breath-taking and Tyn Rhos Snowdonia Hotel is fortunately surrounded by beautiful natural scenes, including our very own elegant gardens.
Another very good reason to visit Snowdonia and North Wales in the autumn season is of course the large number of excellent seasonal events. One event we especially feel the need to call your attention to is the Gwledd Conwy Feast. This annual festival of food, music and art has been a huge success for many years and is one of the biggest crowd drawers for the region at this time of year.
We are pleased to see this festival close on the horizon as October draws near as we love anything that celebrates great food, cooking talent and high quality local produce.
This event is definitely one to attend for all ‘foodies’ as that is what is at the heart of this wonderful festival: delicious food. At the Feast you will find the Food Hall where all aspects of Welsh Food are celebrated. There will be producers and small businesses in this large collection of top local vendors including Trealy Farm Charcuterie, South Caernarfon Creameries, Purple Moose Brewery, Love Cheesecakes, Daffodil Foods, Bodnant Welsh Food, Anglesey Farmhouse Chocolates and many more.
There is also the ever popular Drinks section of the Feast. Look out for the Feast Bar where Welsh drinks producers will be featured. In addition to the main bar there will be a Real Ale Bar and a Champagne and Wine bar.
If you fancy something a little different and even more fabulous food on the go we recommend taking a look at the huge line up of Street Food available with cuisines from all around the world. Whether you love Indian, pulled pork, chilli, cakes or seafood you’ll find something delicious to enjoy while you stroll the stall looking for tasty gifts for friends and families.
For those who love cooking at home themselves you can check out the chefs demonstrations and pick up some new tips. The chef line up this year includes Lee Watson, renowned vegan chef, John Emmerson & Joe Kerswell, who both trained with Jamie Oliver and North Wales local Chris Leach who now works in the prestigious Kitty Fisher’s Wood Grill in Mayfair.
If you don’t want the mouth-watering fun to end after a day at the Gwledd Conwy Feast it doesn’t have to, simply book a table at Tyn Rhos’ Fine Dining Restaurant in Caernarfon. Available to guests of the hotel and non-residents daily, all year round from 6:30pm until 8:45pm.
Our hotel makes excellent accommodation if you are visiting North Wales especially for the Feast, we are only 25 minutes away by car.
