Festival No.6 2017

The glorious Welsh summer often extends through to the early weeks of September, illuminating the luscious green hillsides and mountain ranges with the warm summer sun. This is perfect for anyone staying at the Tyn Rhos Snowdonia Hotel or looking to book a holiday in the Snowdonia or Caernarfon area, and who may also be attending the fantastic Festival No.6 this year.
Wales is home to some entertaining festivals throughout the year like Electric Wave Festival and the National Eisteddfod, but for those who have not yet been acquainted with this unique festival then prepare yourself for a weekend full of music, activities, art and culture. The coastal town of Portmeirion has a distinctively Mediterranean style, making this the perfect location for such an individual festival. There are things happening constantly from dusk till dawn, and the line-up this year has truly propelled the festival onto another level.
You can look forward to some powerful performances from world famous bands and artists like Bloc Party, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Jarvis Cocker, The Flaming Lips and Laura Mvula. Support comes in the form of some spectacular local Welsh talent like Courteous Thief and Yws Gwynedd.
The food served over the weekend is something to behold, going completely against the grain of what you may expect from festival food. A Michelin starred chef will be leading a bespoke banquet inside the Portmeirion Hotel, amongst several other renowned chefs occupying the restaurants in the surrounding area. Various independent food stalls will be at your disposal to acquire a taste for our exquisite Welsh produce.
Activities are in abundance, such as swimming, paddle boarding sessions, torch lit processions, the heliosphere and a Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band themed carnival.
Festival No.6 will be running from the 7th to 10th September, but tickets are running low due to the incredible line-up and entertainment. So if you are in need of somewhere to stay within travelling distance of the festival, our luxurious and comfortable Tyn Rhos bedrooms and fine dining restaurant will certainly be what you need.
