Festival No 6 2015

Portmeirion

September is nearly here and although you might be feeling sad that summer has almost passed by there is so much to look forward to in early autumn.

The landscape surrounding Tyn Rhos Snowdonia Hotel is truly stunning in early autumn. The first couple of weeks of September often luckily bless us with much of the sun and warmth we expect in summer, combined with the awe inspiring transformation of the natural environment, as all the leaves begin to change colours. You can enjoy beautiful views of this transformation in our expansive gardens and throughout the Snowdonia countryside, which is right on our door step.

September is a fantastic time to visit Snowdonia and avid the crowds of high summer during the school holiday and there is another very important reason to consider a holiday in early autumn. September heralds the return of the incredible Festival No 6.

If you are not already a fan of this ‘one of a kind’ festival it is quite like anything you will have experienced before. Forget the mud, grime and discomfort of your average music festival because Festival No 6 is all about class and sophistication. It is as much about art, food and glamour as it is about music. It has been named the most bijou festival around and its location is well suited to this title as it takes place in the unique setting of Portmeirion, the Mediterranean style town in the Snowdonia landscape.

For ‘foodies’ this will be an event to remember with all the stylish restaurants of Portmeirion joined by delicious bespoke street food hub around the festival. Champagne and oysters are more the mood of this festival than burgers and beer.

The line-up welcomes James Morrison, James Bay, Mark Ronson, Badly Drawn Boy, Belle and Sebastian and many more big names.

In addition to the art display, poetry, music and food there will be special experiences including a Prisoner Reconstruction (Portmeirion was the set for the 1960s show), woodland walks, the Mermaid spa, a lantern procession and much more.

Festival No 6 will take place on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th of September so we expect you will already have your tickets and be packed for your trip. Onsite accommodation fills up very quickly so if you are looking for somewhere to stay for the festival, within easy travelling distance, take a look at our luxury, boutique Snowdonia Hotel. Tyn Rhos’ glamorous bedrooms and fine dining restaurant fit in perfectly with the tone and theme of the festival and we are a convenient driving distance away.
