Why North Wales is the Ideal Getaway for Every Kind of Person

Caernarfon Hotel

When some people think of staying in Wales, they might think of the rainy days we’re so used to. Perhaps it’s the untouched emerald green rolling hills for others. Well, we’ve got a lot more going on than you might think, and for every kind of visitor at that.

For those who love a day out where they can truly immerse themselves in the history and culture of an area. The castled towns of North Wales are certainly a great place to start. Just a short drive away from Tyn’ Rhos Country House Hotel you’ll find Caernarfon Castle. But if you’re keen to see a few more you’ll be spoilt for choice with Beaumaris Castle and Conwy Castle, no more than a 40-minute drive away from our Caernarfon Hotel.

If you’re an activity lover then you’ll be glad to know that there’s more do around North Wales than you can shake a stick at. Get your adrenaline going with a visit to Zip World in Bethesda; Europe’s largest zip lining experience. If you’re looking for something indoors give Bounce Below a go. Here, you’ll experience a colourful underground world of trampolines within the deep caves of the Blaenau Ffestiniog Slate Caverns.

When you’re with the young ones, nothing beats a visit to the seaside on a nice day. Our seaside towns are studded with unique little shops and café’s which can really make your day something to remember. There are so many beaches around North Wales that you can opt for a long pebbly walk to a lighthouse or even a small enclosed beach that’s safe for children to play on.

Perhaps you’ve come for the scenery? Well, you’ll get no better view than from Snowdon on a clear day. There are a few routes to choose from depending on your fitness capabilities, varying from 3-7 hours long. Bring a camera along with you because you’re bound to see some of the most outstanding views you’ll have ever seen. However, it’s important to note that this can be a challenge even by taking the easiest route, so be sure to bring the right walking equipment with you and plan according to the weather.

Maybe you’ve visited to taste the best of Wales. Well, you won’t have to go far to discover our much beloved Bara Brith and Traditional Welsh Cakes. Our famous Menai Mussels will often feature on a local menu, but be sure not to miss our very own Welsh lamb or beef which often takes pride of place at our restaurant. We look forward to telling you all about the area when you visit us at Tyn’ Rhos Country House Hotel
